We were very excited to hear from the Hillsborough Architecture & Design Review Board (ADRB) today that our preliminary plans for the Hillsborough property were approved to move to a formal design review. The Town of Hillsborough Planning Department have been very nice to work with in getting these plans together.
We are working with LSH Architects and Spiegel Aihara Workshop to transform an existing 1957 Ranch home on a tricky slope. Our plan is to construct an upper level addition to the home that fits within the town’s 32’ height limit envelope. We have to model the height limit restriction envelope as it follows the slope to ensure the massing of the upper level addition does not break the plane.
The ADRB responded positively to the preliminary design which has a modern ranch feel with sloped roofs and a massing the flows with the slope of the site. Now we have much work to do to get this design fully fleshed out and luckily we have two amazing design firms collaborating to make it happen :)
